Brief

2015

COMMENT

In 2015, the Calgary Regional Partnership (CRP) began development of a food security strategy that establishes the goals and actions necessary to achieve the food related policies of the guiding Metropolitan Plan.

Intelligent Futures and Community Food Lab partnered to bring engagement, policy analysis, secondary research, and creative GIS analysis to the development of the Food Secure strategy. A key focus of the project was collaboration. Representatives from the CRP’s member municipalities were brought to the table with stakeholders from across the food system to identify the opportunities, threats, and actionable moves that are and could impact food security in the Calgary Region.

With findings drawn from engagement and research, the team worked with the Calgary Regional Partnership to create a robust strategy document characterized by user-friendliness and action-oriented directives.
